Regular Season Round 33: CB Canarias - Clinicas Rincon 97-78

Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Clinicas Rincon (12-21) was outscored on the road by sixth ranked La Laguna (18-15) 97-78 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by La Laguna. Clinicas Rincon was better in fourth quarter 24-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. La Laguna made 22-of-26 free shots (84.6 percent) during the game. It was a good game for the former international power forward Ricardo Guillen (205-76) who led his team to a victory with 25 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). point guard Albert Sabat (187-85) contributed with 18 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four La Laguna players scored in double figures. Guard Carlos Cobos (193-88) answered with 19 points and center Maodo Nguirane (210-93) added 5 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Clinicas Rincon. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. La Laguna maintains sixth place with 18-15 record. Loser Clinicas Rincon dropped to the thirteenth position with 21 games lost. La Laguna will face league's leader CB Murcia on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Clinicas Rincon will play against Leche Rio Breogan (#7) in Lugo.
