Shimane Magic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Akita Happinets' 32. They outrebounded Akita Happinets 49-33 including a 35-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Reggie Golson (201-81, college: SE Missouri St., agency: Court Side) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. His fellow American import center Jeral Davis (216-84) accounted for 18 points, 12 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side. Davis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American swingman Will Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 12 rebounds and Nigerian forward Ayodokun Akingbade (207-84, college: George Washington) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Akita Happinets in the defeat. Akita Happinets' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Shimane Magic maintains sixth place with 21-24 record. Loser Akita Happinets keep the fifth position with 30 games lost. Shimane Magic will again meet at home higher ranked Akita Happinets (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Akita Happinets will have a break next round.
