Regular Season Round 47: Takamatsu FA - Okinawa GK 71-100

BJ League top team - Okinawa GK (30-15) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Takamatsu FA (10-33) 100-71. The game was mostly controlled by Okinawa GK. Takamatsu FA was better in third quarter 23-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Takamatsu FA 45-33 including 37 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Okinawa GK especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Takamatsu FA's players. American players dominated also this game. It was a great evening for swingman Carlos Dixon (202-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Strategic Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Forward David Palmer (201-82, college: S.Utah) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK's coach Dai Oketani felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Jefferey Price (203-85, college: Miss.Valley St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and center Terrance Farley (208-85, college: Louisville) scored 13 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Okinawa GK. They maintain first place with 30-15 record. Takamatsu FA at the other side keeps the ninth position with 33 games lost. Okinawa GK will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Takamatsu FA will play again at home against the league's leader Okinawa GK (#1) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
