Regular Season Round 29: Valencia - Lucentum 86-79
Date: April 10, 2011
Not a big story in a game when 16th ranked Meridiano Alicante (8-21) was defeated on the road by third ranked Power Electronics Valencia (20-9) 86-79 on Sunday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Power Electronics Valencia outrebounded Meridiano Alicante 34-22 including a 13-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American swingman Jeremy Richardson (200-84, college: Delta St.) who scored 20 points. Serbian power forward Dusko Savanovic (204-83, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. American guard Kenny Hasbrouck (191-86, college: Siena) produced 19 points and Slovakian power forward Martin Rancik (204-78, college: Iowa St.) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Power Electronics Valencia have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 20-9 record having just three points less than leader Regal Barca. Meridiano Alicante at the other side keeps the sixteenth position with 21 games lost. Power Electronics Valencia will face bottom-ranked Menorca Basquet (#18) in Mahon in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
