Regular Season Round 25: Enel Brindisi - Cantu 71-73

Fifteenth-ranked Enel Brindisi (7-17) gave a tough game to second ranked Bennet Cantu (19-6) on Sunday. The visitors from Cantu managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected much easier game. Enel Brindisi was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. American guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) stepped up and scored 17 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winners and his fellow American import forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side American guard Anthony Roberson (188-83, college: Florida) responded with 21 points and French-Ivorian forward Herve Toure (202-82, agency: ACMT) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bennet Cantu have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain second place with 19-6 record having just 0 points less than leader Montepaschi. Newly promoted Enel Brindisi dropped to the bottom position with 17 games lost. Bennet Cantu are looking forward to face Angelico Biella (#14) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Enel Brindisi will play against Banca Tercas in Teramo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
