Very important is a road loss of third ranked Sunrise Scafati (17-10) against fifth ranked Sigma Barcellona (18-9) on Sunday night. Visiting Sunrise Scafati was crushed by Sigma Barcellona in Barcellona 86-65. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sunrise Scafati. The game was mostly controlled by Sigma Barcellona. Sunrise Scafati managed to win second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sigma Barcellona forced 20 Sunrise Scafati turnovers and had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for Panamanian guard Michael Hicks (193-76, college: Texas A&M - C.C.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Scottish-Nigerian power forward Kieron Achara (208-83, college: Duquesne) helped adding 20 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sigma Barcellona players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Ronald Davis (190-82, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) with 19 points and 8 rebounds and Swedish guard Mats Levin (188-77) scored 16 points and 5 assists. Sigma Barcellona moved-up to third place. Loser Sunrise Scafati dropped to the fourth position with ten games lost. They share it with Snaidero UD. Sigma Barcellona will meet Assigeco BPL (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Sunrise Scafati will play against Prima Veroli (#7) and hope to secure a win.
