The game between closely ranked teams ended with 10th ranked DKV Joventut's (14-15) home loss to ninth ranked Gran Canaria 2014 (16-13) 69-93 on Sunday. The game without a history. Gran Canaria 2014 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Gran Canaria 2014 looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Jaycee Carroll (188-83, agency: Priority Sports) who scored 35 points (!!!). His fellow American import guard Taurean Green (185-85, college: Florida) chipped in 5 points and 8 assists. American swingman Quinton Hosley (198-84, college: Fresno St.) produced 7 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Czech guard David Jelinek (194-90) added 11 points respectively for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Gran Canaria 2014 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. DKV Joventut at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with 15 games lost. Gran Canaria 2014 will face Lagun Aro GBC (#14) in San Sebastian in the next round and are hoping to win another game. DKV Joventut will play on the road against CB Granada.
