Finals Game 2: Bakken - Svendborg 65-59 OT
Date: April 11, 2011
The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 15-9. But Svendborg won second period 25-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where Svendborg used huge pressure winning it 16-6 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 3-9. Bakken dominated on the defensive end, holding Svendborg to just 6 points in third quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bakken made 7 blocks. Svendborg was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American-Belizean guard Charles Burgess (186-84, college: Texas Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Jahmar Thorpe (198-84, college: Houston, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. The former international power forward Nicolai Iversen (205-80, college: San Jose City JC, agency: Rasmussen Services) produced 18 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and international guard Mikkel Plannthin (195-88) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Svendborg's coach Craig Pedersen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
