The most interesting game of round 19 in the CIBACOPA was a home defeat of their biggest opponent Rayos de Hermosillo (15-4) to first ranked Mineros de Cananea (16-3) 89-78 in the game for the first place. It ended the six-game winning streak of Rayos de Hermosillo. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mineros de Cananea made 8 blocks.
