Very important is a road loss of third ranked Frayles de Guasave (11-8) against tenth ranked Coras de Tepic (3-16) on Tuesday night. Visiting Frayles de Guasave was defeated by Coras de Tepic in Tepic 96-82. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Frayles de Guasave. The game without a history. Coras de Tepic led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Coras de Tepic outrebounded Frayles de Guasave 38-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: Dream Team Management) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 14 rebounds. Swingman Cleotis Brown (198-77, college: Illinois, agency: Dream Team Management) accounted for 27 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 blocks for the winning side. Guard Rasheem Barrett (196-87, college: Auburn, agency: SportsList Inc.) came up with 28 points and guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) added 20 points and 10 assists respectively for Frayles de Guasave in the defeat. Coras de Tepic moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Los Mochis. Frayles de Guasave at the other side keeps the third position with eight games lost. Coras de Tepic will again play against higher ranked Frayles de Guasave (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Frayles de Guasave will have a break next round.
