Very expected game when 8th ranked Apollon (12-10) lost to third ranked FEA Neas (14-8) in Halkidon 56-73. The game was mostly controlled by FEA Neas. Apollon was better in second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when FEA Neas won last quarter 21-6. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Apollon to just 6 points in fourth quarter. They outrebounded Apollon 40-28 including 26 on the defensive glass. The former international guard Tania Halivera (178-85) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. American forward Randee Henry (186-82, college: UNLV) chipped in a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds. Four FEA Neas players scored in double figures. American forward Kaili McLaren (188-88, college: Connecticut) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Nkem Nkele (185-86, college: Cal-Riverside) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. FEA Neas have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Panathinaikos and Aris. Apollon at the other side dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
