Not a big story in a game when 8th ranked Miyazaki Shining Suns (13-34) were outplayed on the road by fourth ranked Shiga Lakestars (27-20) 99-73 on Saturday. The game without a history. Shiga Lakestars led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Shiga Lakestars outrebounded Miyazaki Shining Suns 54-35 including a 41-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) fired 8 points, 18 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. His fellow American import guard Mikey Marshall (196-81, college: Texas Tech, agency: Warren Sports International) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Marshall is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Shiga Lakestars players scored in double figures. Shiga Lakestars' coach Haruyuki Ishibashi felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Taishiro Shimizu (183-81) produced 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Brandon Cole (203-84, college: Xavier, agency: Global Sports Plaza) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Shiga Lakestars maintains fourth place with 27-20 record. Miyazaki Shining Suns lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 34 games lost. Shiga Lakestars will face again Miyazaki Shining Suns (#8) at home in the next round.
