Regular Season Round 30: CAI Zaragoza - Real Madrid 86-84

The most exciting game of round 30 in the ACB took place in Zaragoza. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-best Real Madrid (23-7) to twelfth ranked CAI Zaragoza (14-16) 86-84 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Real Madrid. Real Madrid was trailing by 9 points at halftime but managed to get 3-point lead after three quarters before a 22-17 charge of CAI Zaragoza, which allowed them to win the game. They shot 61.1 percent from the field. It was a good game for Argentinian-Italian guard Paolo Quinteros (186-79) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 5 assists. Guard Andres Miso (199-83, college: Colegio Ecole, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. International power forward Felipe Reyes (203-80) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-87) added 13 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Real Madrid. Four CAI Zaragoza and five Real Madrid players scored in double figures. Real Madrid's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. CAI Zaragoza moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with DKV Joventut. Real Madrid at the other side keeps the second position with seven games lost. CAI Zaragoza is looking forward to face higher ranked Blancos de Rueda (#9) in Valladolid in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Real Madrid will play at home against Caja Laboral (#4) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
