Regular Season Round 25: Ilysiakos - Peristeri GS 75-52

There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Ilysiakos (8-17) outplayed higher ranked Peristeri GS (11-14) in Athens 75-52 on Saturday. Ilysiakos made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Peristeri GS turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Ilysiakos especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. It was a very good performance for Barbados-American forward Tyrone Grant (202-77, college: St.John's, agency: Impact Basketball) who helped to win the game recording 12 points. Guard Alexis Kiritsis (198-82) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Forward Alekos Petroulas (201-78) answered with 13 points and Croatian guard Zoran Vrkic (200-87) added 9 points in the effort for Peristeri GS. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ilysiakos moved-up to twelfth place. Peristeri GS at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Ilysiakos will face higher ranked VAP Kolossos (#7) in Rodou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
