Regular Season Round 31: Challans - Blois 85-70

There was a small surprise when tenth ranked Vendee Challans (15-14) won against at home 8th ranked Blois (16-14) 85-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Vendee Challans. Blois managed to win fourth quarter 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Vendee Challans dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Blois' 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Juwann James (198-87, college: JMU) who led the winners and scored 22 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). Forward Benjamin Boutry (198-80) accounted for 12 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Five Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Forward Johan Blot (198-75) came up with 21 points and center Olivier Kolb (205-87) added 14 points respectively for Blois in the defeat. Vendee Challans have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain tenth place with 15-14 record. Loser Blois dropped to the ninth position with 14 games lost. Vendee Challans will meet higher ranked Etendard de Brest (#5) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Blois will play against Angers BC 49 (#3) and hope to secure a win.
