The game between closely ranked teams ended with sixth ranked Shimane Magic's (23-24) road victory over 7th ranked Oita Heat Devils (16-31) 88-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Shimane Magic. Oita Heat Devils was better in fourth quarter 31-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Oita Heat Devils 45-27 including a 38-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Terry Evans (196-86, college: Wisc.-Green Bay) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Shimane Magic players scored in double figures. American forward Damian Johnson (201-87, college: Minnesota, agency: Edge Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and the other American import guard Matt Lottich (193-82, college: Stanford) added 21 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Shimane Magic have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 23-24 record. Oita Heat Devils lost tenth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with 31 games lost. Shimane Magic will have a break next round. Oita Heat Devils will play again at home against Shimane Magic (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
