An interesting game for VEF Riga (19-9) which hosted in Riga 4th ranked Valmiera (17-11). Second ranked VEF Riga had an easy win 109-69. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 109-69. VEF Riga dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Valmiera's 30. They outrebounded Valmiera 41-24 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. They maintain second position with 19-9 record having just three points less than leader Ventspils. Loser Valmiera keeps the fourth place with 11 games lost.
