Regular Season Round 27: Galil Gilboa - Maccabi T-A 68-79

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Galil. First ranked Maccabi T-A faced second-best Galil Gilboa. Guests from Tel-Aviv (26-1) defeated host Galil Gilboa (17-10) 79-68. It looked good early as Galil Gilboa took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Maccabi T-A had a 20-8 second period charge getting the lead and Galil Gilboa was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 68-79. They outrebounded Galil Gilboa 34-18 including a 26-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Maccabi T-A players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was a good game for American point guard Jeremy Pargo (188-86, college: Gonzaga, agency: Priority Sports) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 8 assists. His fellow American import swingman Chuck Eidson (202-80, college: S.Carolina, agency: Court Side) contributed with 19 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. International point guard Gal Mekel (193-88, college: Wichita St.) answered with 9 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and international guard Dagan Yavzuri (193-85) added 12 points in the effort for Galil Gilboa. Maccabi T-A have an impressive series of twenty victories in a row. They maintain first place with 26-1 record. Defending champion Galil Gilboa keeps the second position with ten games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
