The game in Mexicali was also worth to mention about. 5th ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (12-11) played at the court of sixth ranked Bomberos de Mexicali (11-12). Bomberos de Mexicali managed to secure a 5-point victory 88-83. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 25-19. But Fuerza Guinda Nogales won second period 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bomberos de Mexicali brought some defensive toughness making 12 blocks. American forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Michael Gale (193-82, college: Centenary) contributed with 26 points and 5 assists for the winners. Bomberos de Mexicali's coach Luis Nicoletti allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Guard Brandon Heredia (180-85, college: Lon Morris JC) answered with 23 points and 4 assists and Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Four Bomberos de Mexicali and five Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. Bomberos de Mexicali maintains sixth place with 11-12 record, which they share with Guaymas. Fuerza Guinda Nogales at the other side keep the fifth position with 11 games lost.
