Second Stage Round 7: Alkar Sinj - Puntamika 70-71

Another exciting game where sixth ranked Borik Puntamika (3-4) edged by one point 7th ranked Alkar Sinj (2-5) 71-70. It looked good early as Alkar Sinj took an 14-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Borik Puntamika took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 1 point. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Jure Skific (202-88) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws). Swingman Marino Jurjevic (193-84) contributed with 22 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Ante Delas (201-88) answered with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (made all of his seven free throws) and guard Mirko Modric (196-81) added 11 points in the effort for Alkar Sinj. Alkar Sinj's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Borik Puntamika moved-up to fourth place in Group A, which they share with KK Split and Cibona. Newly promoted Alkar Sinj keeps the seventh position with five games lost. Borik Puntamika will play against Cibona (#6) in Zagreb in the next round. Alkar Sinj will play at home against the league's leader Cedevita in Zagreb and hopes to get back on the winning track.
