D1 top team - Spirou Charleroi (22-4) added another victory to their record. This time they beat fifth ranked Antwerp Giants (15-13) 65-59. The guests were ahead by 6 points but lost the second period ending it with a 2-point deficit before their 21-13 run, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American guard Demond Mallet (185-78, college: McNeese St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) who led his team to a victory scoring 29 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). International forward Christophe Beghin (207-80, agency: Court Side) helped adding 10 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side American center Graham Brown (205-84, college: Michigan) responded with 9 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import guard Michael Roll (196-87, college: UCLA) scored 18 points. Defending champion maintains first place with 22-4 record. Antwerp Giants at the other side keep the fifth position with 13 games lost. Spirou Charleroi will play against league's second-placed Okapi Aalstar on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Antwerp Giants will play against Base Oostende and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
