There was no surprise when 9th ranked Coras de Tepic (4-19) was crushed on the road by fourth ranked Frayles de Guasave (13-10) 105-80 on Tuesday. The game without a history. Frayles de Guasave led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for guard Rasheem Barrett (196-87, college: Auburn, agency: SportsList Inc.) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 4 assists. Guard William Funn (188-82, college: Portland St.) helped adding 19 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists. Funn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Coach Marcelo Elusich's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play all 12 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Ira Brown (193-82, college: Gonzaga, agency: Dream Team Management) responded with 27 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Cleotis Brown (198-77, college: Illinois, agency: Dream Team Management) scored 11 points and 6 assists. Five Frayles de Guasave and four Coras de Tepic players scored in double figures. Frayles de Guasave maintains fourth place with 13-10 record. Coras de Tepic lost their third game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 19 games lost. Frayles de Guasave will again meet at home Coras de Tepic (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Coras de Tepic will have a break next round.
