The biggest surprise took place in Cananea where host Mineros de Cananea (19-4) beat league's leader Rayos de Hermosillo (18-5) 87-77 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Rayos de Hermosillo. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 47-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Davin White (186-81, college: Cal.St. Northridge) who scored 29 points, 8 assists and 6 steals. Forward Derek Thomas (193-84, college: Appalachian St.) chipped in 22 points and 4 assists.
