Regular Season Round 24: Mexicali - Nogales 76-92

Date: April 20, 2011
The game in Mexicali was also quite interesting. Fifth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (13-11) played at the court of 7th ranked Bomberos de Mexicali (11-13). Fuerza Guinda Nogales defeated Bomberos de Mexicali 92-76 on Wednesday. It was a great shooting night for Fuerza Guinda Nogales especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.6 percentage. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Fuerza Guinda Nogales made 13 blocks. The winners were led by Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and American-Venezuelan forward Jermaine Walker (198-77, college: Miami, FL) supported him with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Even 26 points and 7 rebounds by American forward James Penny (198-76, college: TCU) did not help to save the game for Bomberos de Mexicali. His fellow American import guard Michael Gale (193-82, college: Centenary) added 16 points and 5 assists. Five Fuerza Guinda Nogales and four Bomberos de Mexicali players scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales maintains fifth position with 13-11 record. Bomberos de Mexicali at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will meet at home league's leader Mineros de Cananea in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bomberos de Mexicali will play against Pioneros Los Mochis (#10) and hope to secure a win.
