We should mention about the upset which took place in Haifa, where higher ranked Maccabi Rishon (13-14) lost to ninth ranked Maccabi Haifa (8-19) in a road game 70-76 on Thursday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 19-12 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Maccabi Rishon outrebounded Maccabi Haifa 44-26 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Frank Robinson (193-84, college: Cal.St. Fullerton, agency: Priority Sports) who scored 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. International forward Elishay Kadir (202-87, agency: Avi Zilberman) chipped in 14 points. Five Maccabi Haifa players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Dwayne Mitchell (196-82, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Interperformances) who recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Isaiah Swann (188-85, college: Florida St.) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively.
