Dnipro stunned Budivelnyk in Kyiv to take the lead in the series. It looked good early as Budivelnyk took an 14-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Dnipro took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 5 points. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Steve Burtt (185-84, college: Iona) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 27 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Canadian forward Denham Brown (198-83, college: Connecticut, agency: Edge Sports) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. British center Andrew Betts (216-77, college: Long Beach St.) answered with 12 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Lamayne Wilson (204-80, college: Troy) added 14 points in the effort for Budivelnyk. Budivelnyk's coach Josep Berrocal tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
