Second Stage Round 8: Zabok - KK Split 87-92
Date: April 22, 2011
Bottom-ranked Zabok is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their seventh consecutive match to fifth ranked KK Split (4-4) 92-87 on Friday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-87. The winners were led by the former international guard Srdan Subotic (193-80) who scored that evening 30 points and 4 assists and guard Ivan Mimica (193-80) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even 30 points by forward Robert Lez (200-79) did not help to save the game for Zabok. Forward Sasa Jankovic (204-84) added 11 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. KK Split moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Cibona. Loser Zabok still closes the standings with seven games lost. KK Split will meet at home Alkar Sinj (#7) in the next round. Zabok will play against the league's second-placed KK Zagreb CO and hopes to get finally their first victory.
