Very expected game when 17th ranked Stade Clermont (9-22) was smashed on the road by tenth ranked Chalons-Reims (17-14) 78-58 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Chalons-Reims forced 20 Stade Clermont turnovers. Stade Clermont was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for the former international swingman Gary Chathuant (196-83) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds.
