Regular Season Round 32: Souffel - Sorgues 64-62

A very close game took place in Souffel. between Souffelweyersheim and Sorgues. Thirteenth ranked Souffelweyersheim (14-17) got a very close home victory over higher ranked Sorgues (18-13). Souffelweyersheim managed to escape with a 2-point win 64-62 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Sorgues. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Sorgues won third quarter 21-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Souffelweyersheim won last quarter 14-13. The best player for the winners was forward Jacques Alingue (201-88) who scored 9 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Jeremy Tschamber (192-84) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. Samir Mekad produced 13 points and Serbian forward Slobodan Ocokoljic (204-80, college: Weber St.) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Sorgues players scored in double figures. Souffelweyersheim moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Orchy and Lievin. Sorgues at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with 13 games lost. They share it with St Quentin and St Etienne. Souffelweyersheim will meet Lievin Basket (#11) on the road in the next round. Sorgues will play against Get Vosges (#16) in Golbey and hope to secure a win.
