Eighth-ranked Unicaja Malaga (17-14) gave a tough game to third ranked Power Electronics Valencia (22-9). Power Electronics Valencia managed to secure only two-point victory 73-71. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Unicaja Malaga won third quarter 22-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was an exceptional evening for guard Rafael Martinez (191-82) who led the winners and scored 15 points. American swingman Jeremy Richardson (200-84, college: Delta St.) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. American guard Gerald Fitch (191-82, college: Kentucky, agency: SportsTalent) came up with 16 points and 7 rebounds and British forward Joel Freeland (208-87) added 18 points respectively for Unicaja Malaga in the defeat. Unicaja Malaga's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Power Electronics Valencia have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain third place with 22-9 record having just three points less than leader Regal Barca. Unicaja Malaga at the other side keeps the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Valladolid. Power Electronics Valencia will play against Asefa Estudiantes (#10) in Madrid in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Unicaja Malaga will play on the road against Gran Canaria 2014 in Las Palmas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
