There was no surprise when 9th ranked Takamatsu FA (10-38) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Shiga Lakestars (30-20) 95-80. The game without a history. Shiga Lakestars led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Shiga Lakestars forced 21 Takamatsu FA turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. The winners were led by American guard Mikey Marshall (196-81, college: Texas Tech, agency: Warren Sports International) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 9 steals (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and the other American import power forward Gary Hamilton (208-84, college: Miami, FL) supported him with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Marshall is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Shiga Lakestars' coach Haruyuki Ishibashi allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by American center Terrance Farley (208-85, college: Louisville) did not help to save the game for Takamatsu FA. Swingman Hiroyuki Kikuchi (191-80) added 15 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Shiga Lakestars have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing. Takamatsu FA lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with 38 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
