Regular Season Round 27: Rilski Sportist - Levski Sofia 64-70
Date: April 26, 2011
In just another low-scoring battle turned out the derby game of the 27th round in the NBL between Rilski Sportist Samokov and Levski Sofia. Levski Sofia got its fourth victory against this opponent to sweep the season series, and to avoid meeting them in the playoffs. The only chance those two teams meet again this post-season is on the Final. The game was tied for most parts of it, right until the last quarter, which started at 52 apiece. Strong run in both offense and defense for Levski Sofia got them on top before the closing minutes, and after six consecutive points by Aaron Harper (199-G/F-81, agency: Strategic Sports, college: Mississippi), they led by 5, with 5 minutes to go. From this point on, Levski Sofia kept its lead, with Rilski only managing to cut it to two on three occasions, but never to tie again. Aaron Harper, whos already on top of the scorers list, finished with 19 points and 9 rebounds. His main competition for scoring champion Ivan Lilov (196-F/G-88) form Rilski, finished with just 12 in this game.
