The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 20-7. But Hacettepe Univ. won second period 21-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Genc Banvit dominated on the defensive end, holding Hacettepe Univ. to just 7 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Hacettepe Univ. 47-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Hacettepe Univ. helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Guard Erolcan Cinko (188-90) stepped up and scored 22 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Serbian power forward Marko Kolaric (213-84, college: Chaminade) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side American power forward Jermaine Dearman (202-80, college: S.Illinois) responded with 26 points and 9 rebounds and guard Caner Erdeniz (188-87) scored 12 points. Hacettepe Univ.'s coach Alp Bayramoglu rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
