Regular Season Round 26: Nogales - Cananea 86-96

Leader Mineros de Cananea delivered the twentieth first victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (13-13) 96-86. The game was mostly controlled by Mineros de Cananea. Fuerza Guinda Nogales managed to win third quarter 27-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mineros de Cananea made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Mineros de Cananea's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 17 rebounds and American-Venezuelan forward Jermaine Walker (198-77, college: Miami, FL) scored 23 points. Four Fuerza Guinda Nogales players scored in double figures. Mineros de Cananea maintains first position with 21-5 record. Loser Fuerza Guinda Nogales dropped to the sixth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Mexicali. Mineros de Cananea will meet Ostioneros de Guaymas (#5) on the road in the next round. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play against Coras de Tepic and hope to secure a win.
