Regular Season Round 24: Ikaroi Serron - AEK/Argous 75-69

Very expected game in Serres where 12th ranked AEK/Argous (10-14) was defeated by fourth ranked Ikaroi Serron (15-9) 75-69. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-17. But AEK/Argous won third quarter 11-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for center Kostas Kakaroudis (204-83) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 9 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Kostas Totsios (191-78) contributed with 13 points for the winners. Power forward Andronikos Gizogiannis (200-83, agency: FCM) replied with 19 points and 6 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and forward Alexis Raptis (200-81) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for AEK/Argous. Four AEK/Argous players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ikaroi Serron maintains fourth position with 15-9 record. Newly promoted AEK/Argous dropped to the tenth place with 14 games lost. Ikaroi Serron's next round opponent will be Panelefsiniakos (#5) in Eleusina. AEK/Argous will play at home against Pagrati (#13) in Athens.
