Regular Season Round 28: Cantu - Pesaro 63-55
Date: May 1, 2011
Very predictable result when second ranked Bennet Cantu (21-7) defeated at home 9th ranked Scavolini Pesaro (13-15) 63-55 on Sunday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-10. But Scavolini Pesaro won second period 19-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import forward Maarten Leunen (206-85, college: Oregon) who added 13 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side the former international guard Daniel Hackett (196-87, college: USC) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Andre Collins (183-82, college: Loyola, MD) scored 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Scavolini Pesaro's coach gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bennet Cantu maintains second position with 21-7 record having four points less than leader Montepaschi. Loser Scavolini Pesaro dropped to the eighth place with 15 games lost. Bennet Cantu will face Benetton Treviso (#5) on the road in the next round. Scavolini Pesaro will play against Air Avellino.
