There was no surprise when 9th ranked Optima Gent (5-24) was defeated at home by third ranked Dexia Mons-Hainaut (19-10) 81-74. Optima Gent was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. It was a great shooting night for Dexia Mons-Hainaut especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.7 percentage. American guard Ron Lewis (193-84, college: Ohio St.) nailed 25 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Ronell Taylor (196-82, college: UAB) accounted for 19 points. The former international guard Domien Loubry (186-85) came up with 19 points, 8 assists and 4 steals and guard Senne Geukens (190-83) added 22 points respectively for Optima Gent in the defeat. Dexia Mons-Hainaut maintains third place with 19-10 record having five points less than leader Charleroi. Optima Gent lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Dexia Mons-Hainaut's next round opponent will be Leuven Bears (#6) at home. Optima Gent will play against Antwerp Giants.
