The game in Mexicali was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Frayles de Guasave (18-12) played at the court of 7th ranked Bomberos de Mexicali (14-16). Frayles de Guasave defeated Bomberos de Mexicali 110-100 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Frayles de Guasave. Bomberos de Mexicali managed to win third quarter 28-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Frayles de Guasave made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Frayles de Guasave made 12 blocks. The best player for the winners was American guard Kevin Sowell (190-81) who had a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 6 blocks. They share the position with Tijuana. Frayles de Guasave will meet league's second-placed Caballeros de Culiacan on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Bomberos de Mexicali will play against Tijuana Zonkeys (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
