The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked T71 (22-6) in Ettelbruck on Saturday night. Visitors were edged by second ranked Etzella (20-8) in overtime 85-84. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of T71. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But T71 won third quarter 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where T71 used huge pressure winning it 24-23 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period -. Etzella dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to T71's 44. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American power forward Dustin Scott (203-85, college: Charleston) had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and the former international swingman Nelson Delgado (186-80) chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Denell Stephens (193-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 13 rebounds and international guard Tom Schumacher (190-87, college: Cal.Baptist) scored 26 points, 6 assists and 4 steals. Five Etzella and four T71 players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Etzella maintains second position with 20-8 record having just two points less than leader Musel Pikes. Defending champion T71 still keeps top place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
