There was no surprise when 12th ranked Vanoli-Braga (12-17) was defeated on the road by third ranked Armani Milano (21-8) 92-74 on Thursday. The game was mostly controlled by Armani Milano. Vanoli-Braga was better in third quarter 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Armani Milano looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Vanoli-Braga's players. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Mason Rocca (204-77, college: Princeton) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. American guard David Hawkins (194-82, college: Temple) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Five Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Slovenian forward Marko Milic (202-77) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and American-Bulgarian guard Earl Rowland (188-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) added 17 points and 4 steals respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Armani Milano have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bennet Cantu. Loser Vanoli-Braga dropped to the eleventh position with 17 games lost. Armani Milano will face Scavolini Pesaro (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vanoli-Braga will play against Dinamo Sassari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
