Rather predictable result when second ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (23-10) won against on the road 6th ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (17-16) 108-97 on Friday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 59-43 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. It was a good game for American guard Marcus Moore (198-80, college: Washington St.) who led his team to a victory with 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) contributed with 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) for the winners. Caballeros de Culiacan's coach Jonathan Meza used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American-Venezuelan forward Jermaine Walker (198-77, college: Miami, FL) answered with 27 points and 5 assists and Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) added 26 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Fuerza Guinda Nogales. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Caballeros de Culiacan have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion maintains second place with 23-10 record having just two points less than leader Cananea. Fuerza Guinda Nogales lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 16 games lost. Caballeros de Culiacan will have a break next round. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will play again at home against the league's second-placed Caballeros de Culiacan (#2).
