Regular Season Round 35: Nogales - Tijuana 110-90

Sixth ranked Fuerza Guinda Nogales (18-17) crushed at home 8th ranked Tijuana Zonkeys (15-20) by 20 points 110-90, which is the biggest margin this round. It looked good early as Tijuana Zonkeys took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Fuerza Guinda Nogales had a 36-30 second period charge getting the lead and Tijuana Zonkeys were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 90-110. Fuerza Guinda Nogales brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. It was a quality performance for the former international guard Omar Quintero (183-81, college: S.Nazarene) who led the winners and scored 27 points and 5 assists. Naturalized American guard Noah Brown (186-81, college: Appalachian St.) accounted for 26 points for the winning side. Fuerza Guinda Nogales' coach Chris Terrell allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American power forward Cyrus Tate (203-85, college: Iowa, agency: Edge Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 14 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Enrique Zuniga (193-76, college: Grand Canyon) added 23 points and 5 assists respectively for Tijuana Zonkeys in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Fuerza Guinda Nogales maintains sixth place with 18-17 record. Tijuana Zonkeys lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 20 games lost. Fuerza Guinda Nogales will again play against Tijuana Zonkeys (#8) at home in the next round. Tijuana Zonkeys will have a break next round.
