No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked AEK/Argous (13-14) beat at home 14th ranked Periko/Arhelaos (10-17) 65-61 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 20-13. But Periko/Arhelaos won second period 13-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AEK/Argous made 19-of-25 free shots (76.0 percent) during the game. Periko/Arhelaos was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for power forward Andronikos Gizogiannis (200-83, agency: FCM) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 8 rebounds. American-Icelandic guard Darrel Lewis (192-76, college: Lincoln, MO) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Giannis Rodostoglou (197-83) answered with 13 points and forward Giannis Papachristos (194-80) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Periko/Arhelaos. Newly promoted AEK/Argous maintains eighth place with 13-14 record, which they share with Amyntas Dafnis. Periko/Arhelaos lost fifth consecutive game. Periko/Arhelaos at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the twelfth position with 17 games lost.
