Galatasaray shocked Banvit on the road to surge ahead in the series. It looked good early as Banvit took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Galatasaray had a 25-15 second period charge getting the lead and Banvit was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 57-79. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Banvit's 24. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Ermal Kurtoglu (208-80, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Preston Shumpert (198-79, college: Syracuse) contributed with 13 points and 4 assists for the winners. American-Azerbaijan forward Charles Davis (202-84, college: Alabama) answered with 15 points and the former international guard Baris Ermis (194-85) added 9 points and 4 assists in the effort for Banvit. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
