Regular Season Round 28: KAOD - Panerythraikos 79-67

A2 top team - KAOD (25-3) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Panerythraikos (10-18) in Dramas 79-67. The game was mostly controlled by KAOD. Panerythraikos was better in fourth quarter 18-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. KAOD outrebounded Panerythraikos 38-25 including 31 on the defensive glass. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by Serbian guard Ivan Vukantinov (193-81) who scored that evening 23 points and 4 assists and power forward Vageli Margaritis (202-82) supported him with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Even 18 points and 4 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) by guard Thanasis Straganiotis (180-83) did not help to save the game for Panerythraikos. Cypriot guard Andreas Sizopoulos (189-83) added 18 points and 4 steals for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KAOD have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 25-3 record. Newly promoted Panerythraikos dropped to the fourteenth place with 18 games lost. They share the position with Koroivos. KAOD will play against AEK/Argous (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Panerythraikos will play against the league's second-placed AGOR (#2) in Rethymno and hopes to get back on the winning track.
