Regular Season Round 12: Mogi das Cruzes - Paulistano 68-73

The biggest surprise of round 12 in Paulista was guest Paulistano's (6-2) road victory over one of their biggest challengers Gremio Mogi (5-3) 73-68 on Thursday evening. The guests trailed by 3 points after three quarters before their 25-17 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Paulistano made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was the former international forward Felipe Ribeiro (201-79) who had a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Renato Carbonari (204-87) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Gustavinho Lima (178-85) who recorded 17 points and 5 steals and Argentinian center Pedro I. Calderon (209-80) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Gremio Mogi's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Paulistano have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Vivo/Franca and S.Jose/Vinac. Gremio Mogi at the other side dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Araraquara. Paulistano is looking forward to face bottom-ranked XV/Cosan (#16) in Piracicaba in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Gremio Mogi will have a break next round.
