Regular Season Round 3: Pioneros - Lechugueros 101-73

The game between fifth ranked Pioneros (2-1) and bottom-ranked Lechugueros (0-3) in Cancun ended with biggest points difference. Pioneros outscored guests from Leon 101-73. The game without a history. Pioneros led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Strangely Lechugueros outrebounded Pioneros 42-29 including a 16-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was the former international swingman Romel Beck (203-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) who scored 28 points and 5 assists. American forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds. Millsap is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Pioneros players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and Haitian-American swingman Bobby St.Preux (196-80, college: N.Kentucky, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 13 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Pioneros moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Toros and Soles. Lechugueros at the other side still closes the standings with three games lost. Pioneros' next round opponent will be again Lechugueros (#13) in Leon and are hoping to win another game.
