Regular Season Round 4: Pioneros - Lechugueros 107-101

Bottom-ranked Lechugueros is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to fourth ranked Pioneros (3-1) 107-101 on Saturday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lechugueros won third quarter 20-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Pioneros made 25-of-30 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. The winners were led by the former international swingman Romel Beck (203-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 35 points (!!!) and 7 assists and American forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) supported him with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Millsap is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Pioneros' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 24 points by Haitian-American swingman Bobby St.Preux (196-80, college: N.Kentucky, agency: KMG Sports Management) did not help to save the game for Lechugueros. Bahamas power forward Ryan Moss (200-74, college: UALR) added 18 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Five Lechugueros players scored in double figures. Pioneros moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Lechugueros still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Volcanes. Pioneros will meet Halcones UV Xalapa (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lechugueros will play against the league's leader Abejas in Guanajuato and look forward to get finally their first victory.
