No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Halcones Rojos (4-1) crushed 7th ranked Pioneros (3-3) in Veracruz 92-72. The game was mostly controlled by Halcones Rojos. Pioneros was better in fourth quarter 19-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Halcones Rojos shot the lights out from three nailing 19 long-distance shots on high 65.5 percentage. The best player for the winners was international guard Paul Stoll (178-85) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Venezuelan point guard Gregory Vargas (182-86) chipped in 13 points and 9 assists. Five Halcones Rojos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward John Millsap (198-82, college: UTSA) who recorded 16 points and 9 rebounds and the former international swingman Romel Beck (203-82, college: UNLV, agency: Interperformances) added 22 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Halcones Rojos have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Abejas. Pioneros at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost.
