Regular Season Round 6: Barreteros - Huracanes 77-71

LNBP top team - Barreteros (6-0) added another victory to their record. This time they beat sixth ranked Huracanes (3-3) in Zacatecas 77-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Huracanes. Huracanes were ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 23-14 charge of Barreteros, which allowed them to win the game. Savador Cuevas scored 17 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American forward James Reaves (203-82, college: Niagara, agency: TSS Management) chipped in 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Barreteros' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Omar Quintero (183-81, college: S.Nazarene) with 19 points and 8 assists and Venezuelan forward Nestor Colmenares (203-87, college: Campbellsville) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds. Five Huracanes players scored in double figures. Barreteros have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 6-0 record. Huracanes at the other side keep the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Soles and Pioneros. Barreteros will play against Lechugueros (#11) in Leon in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Huracanes will play on the road against Correcaminos (#10) in Ciudad Victoria and hope to get back on the winning track.
